White Mold Management in Soybean
White mold of soybean (syn., Sclerotinia stem rot) is a disease caused by the fungus Sclerotinia sclerotiorum. Over the past two years (2009 and 2010) there have more widespread and severe occurrences of this disease across the North Central region. With these increased occurrences there have been increased numbers of questions about the best management practices for control of white mold. In this talk, I will highlight some of the recent research on management of white mold including host resistance, foliar fungicides, and biological control. Recommendations based on field history will also be discussed.
