BIO: Jason P. Bond is an Associate Professor at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. Dr. Bond teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in plant pathology and plant nematology. His research program focuses on the management of foliar and soilborne diseases of soybean including sudden death syndrome, soybean cyst nematode and frogeye leaf spot. Additional research priorities include the management of fungal and nematode pathogens in corn. Dr. Bond is a second-generation plant pathologist, and he was raised on a watermelon farm in southeastern Louisiana. He received his Ph.D. in Plant Health from Louisiana State University.
