Seed-Placed Fertilizer: How much is too much?

Pop-up or seed-placed fertilizer application remains a popular and useful placement for plant nutrients for Midwest cropping systems.  However, too much fertilizer can lower germination, plant stands and yields.  The many factors influencing seed-placed fertilizer injury will be discussed.  The development and use of a spreadsheet decision aid to estimate safe pop-up fertilizer rates will also be presented.
